Description

Sustainability is about more than securing funding, it’s about building the capacity to maintain a program and its benefits over time. In this microlearning course, learners are introduced to the eight components of program sustainability, a research-informed framework that supports long-term program success. Through a brief, self-paced learning experience, participants will explore the key elements that contribute to lasting impact, including program adaptation, organizational capacity, program evaluation, communication, environmental support, partnerships, funding stability, and strategic planning.

Learning Objectives

  • Define program sustainability and its importance for long-term program success.
  • Identify the eight components of program sustainability.
  • Apply the eight components of program sustainability to a real-world scenario.

Real-World Application

Learners will gain a practical framework for assessing and strengthening the long-term viability of their programs and initiatives. By understanding the eight components of program sustainability, participants can identify areas of strength and opportunities for growth, helping their organizations move from a reactive approach focused solely on funding to a proactive strategy that supports lasting community impact and program longevity.
