This course is Part 2 of a three-part series on engaging youth in prevention planning efforts. The purpose of this course is to introduce Robert Hart’s ladder of engagement and explore ways that you can effectively elevate youth skill sets and roles to enhance your community-level prevention efforts.

This course helps learners apply youth engagement strategies by strengthening their ability to move from planning to action. Participants can use these practices to create meaningful roles for youth in schools, community coalitions, and prevention initiatives by building leadership opportunities, fostering shared decision-making, and creating environments where youth voice directly informs programs and community change.
