Description

The Pennsylvania Network for Student Assistance Services (PNSAS) is the central coordinating body for the Student Assistance Program (SAP) in Pennsylvania schools. It offers resources, training, technical support, and best-practice guidance to SAP teams, liaisons, and regional coordinators who help schools identify and respond to student risk factors including substance use, mental health concerns, attendance issues, and other barriers to learning.

For prevention professionals, the PNSAS website is a practical hub for:

Understanding how school-based prevention and early intervention systems function within a statewide infrastructure
Accessing standardized SAP training (including continuing education options) for effective team implementation
Finding tools, newsletters, data, and regional support contacts that strengthen coordinated prevention efforts
Learning how interdisciplinary teams collaborate to support students, families, and schools in reducing risk and promoting health, well-being, and academic success.
By connecting prevention strategies with real-world practice and policy, this site helps professionals bridge science-based approaches with practical school and community interventions.
