This course is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills to foster a positive school climate that supports you and your students’ social and emotional well-being.

Learning Objectives

  • Demonstrate a foundational understanding of social and emotional competence and the framework for SEL.
  • Summarize the status of your current SEL efforts.
  • Identify the key components for school or organizational systemic SEL implementation.
  • Recognize and implement strategies to promote SEL competencies within your environment (classroom, school, after-school).
  • Communicate qualities that make up an SEL leader.
  • Determine and set short- and long-term priorities for your environment (classroom, school, after-school).
