Evidence2Success® Guiding Collective Change Action Guide 4: Placing Communities at the Center of Coalition-Driven Change

From People to Place and Power: Coalitions that Succeed by Grounding Efforts in Community Context

The Action Guide and its 2-page Preview companion are written with community-based practitioners in mind. Communities used a five-phase, community-centric process from Evidence2Success to create and sustain efforts to improve youth and family outcomes. Key to the approach is integrating community expertise about its own priorities, context, and strengths with research expertise about evidence-based strategies and practical know-how. Data shows that each community kept moving forward using the process, with coalition participation that aligned with regional demographics. The guide offers insider tips, check-lists, and stories from real communities to guide practitioners. The Annie E. Casey Foundation funded the publication.
