Peer Support Specialist Services in PA

In 2005, the Pennsylvania Office of Mental Health Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS) created a path for the development of new mental health services across Pennsylvania that would support and facilitate the process of recovery and community-integration. Peer Support Specialist Services were developed for self-identified individuals in recovery to be trained and certified to offer support and assistance to others in the recover and community-integration process.
