The National Child Traumatic Stress Network: Justice System Professionals

Trauma-Informed Tools and Training for Juvenile Justice

The “Justice System Professionals” section of the National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN) offers a rich collection of tools and supports tailored for judges, attorneys, law enforcement, probation officers, residential staff, mental health practitioners, and caregivers working within juvenile justice settings.

Recognizing that the majority of youth in the justice system have experienced significant trauma, the site provides training curricula, fact sheets, tip sheets, self-assessments, and guides to help professionals understand trauma’s impact and implement trauma-informed practices in their work.

Overall, this hub equips justice professionals with evidence-based knowledge and practical tools for building more trauma-responsive systems and improving outcomes for justice-involved youth.
