Writing S.M.A.R.T. Goals and Objectives
The purpose of this course is to introduce you to S.M.A.R.T. goals and objectives and explain how they can effectively move an idea into action by clearly defining what needs to be done, by who, and by what target date. In addition, you will learn how S.M.A.R.T. components help provide measurable accountability and timing guidelines to determine whether project activities are producing the desired result.

- Describe each component of S.M.A.R.T.
- Write a goal that includes all components of S.M.A.R.T.
- Apply the S.M.A.R.T. components to a prevention goal.
Penn State is a Pennsylvania Department of Education non-credit Act 48 approved provider. Upon successful completion, participants can earn 0.5 hours toward fulfilling their Act 48 requirements by participating in this course and completing all activities. Be sure to complete the evaluation at the end of this course and indicate if you seek Act 48 credits in your learner profile.
